The Robin Tree

Yesterday, I saw my first robin of the season. A much surer sign than the groundhog’s shadow of imminent spring. Now there are no less than twenty robins in the crabapple tree outside our dining room window. They are evenly spaced, just like carefully placed Christmas tree ornaments. They must know that it is safe to return to this frozen tundra. The robin tree sings of hope eternal.
